Dusty Trail Oil24" x 36"Sold Bob was born in Minot, North Dakota, but has lived in Oregon for over 46 years. As a youth, his playground was the outdoors and the animals that inhabit them. Bob considers himself as self-taught and his college education in fine arts to be only part of his art education. Most of his life is connected with the outdoors, researching and observing wherever he goes; he has carried the gift of art within himself since he was a little boy. He remembers his teacher making him stand in the hallway because he was drawing on his papers. Bob obtained his contractors license in 1970 and moved to Imnaha, Oregon in 1972. Working as a builder most of his life made it hard to find time to paint. As an awarded artist he now does part-time construction and pursues his art career more seriously. In 1981 Bob moved to the art community in Joseph, Oregon. Visit Joseph Oregon Artists. He has four children and six grandchildren. Bob gets much of his inspiration from the beautiful Wallowa Mountains in eastern Oregon and from many of his trips to the mountains, lakes, streams and beaches of the Pacific Northwest.
